Harleen Quinzel was a bright and ruthlessly ambitious psychiatry student who just happened to have just one really bad day.

She's most notable for trying to pry out all of The Joker's dirty little secrets, for a book she was going to write on the very worst Arkham Asylum had to offer. She lost herself in the bargain, letting herself get too close, ensnared by The Joker's deft manipulations of her own flawed psyche. Now nobody knows what a good doctor she always wanted to be, how driven and how clever. Everybody sees a broken, bubble-headed little clown who won't leave the man she loves, even if it kills her.

Disclaimers and stuff: Sometimes this material will get pretty dark and pretty explicit. Harley is in at least one abusive on-again, off-again "relationship" (how that relationship is defined and carried out is entirely up for negotiation) and possibly others. While the typist does not personally condone all of these behaviors, they will not shy away from them. Typist and character are over 21. Harley Quinn belongs to the DC universe. Women used to portray Harley Quinn belong to themselves.
Typist does not read or engage with New52 storylines because of reasons. Interpretation is a sort of mash-up of comics, animated series and widely-held headcanons.
